Mr. E.F.'Trigger' Rigby. An Old Boy of the school, he left FGS only to get his degree. Returning after graduation, he taught French at FGS until he retired. Mr. R.N. Bate (Chemistry) Mr. E.R. Petty (Maths) Mr. J. 'Joss' Friday (Physics) Mr. P.H. 'Froggy' Holgate (French), here looking much older than when he taught me a year earlier. Ill-health forced him to retire in 1948.
