The 1946 Summer Term LUMEN seems to portray an unusual lack of enthusiasm on the part of the Editorial Board. The editorial itself appears to have been an exercise in 'satisfying the minimum requirement', and LUMEN's usual 'Appointments and Successes' feature was absent altogether. Nevertheless I hope that some of the excerpts reproduced here may awaken memories of life as it was in the year immediately following the end of the war.

I've also chosen a nicely-crafted poem by sixth-former 'Gus' Green and another by Christine Wilson, who became Mrs. Ron Butler.
