Farnworth Grammar School Excerpts from Lumen

The 1945 Lumen marked the end of WWII in Europe. Kathleen Dunn's copy provides an interesting complement to Jim Pedley's 1940 example, from which you may have got the impression that the school regarded the war as an acceptable nuisance provided that it stayed in its appointed place (i.e. abroad) and didn't interfere with the cricket or the tennis. But when peace returned five long years later, FGS was every bit as relieved and optimistic as anyone else, as these extracts show.
There are four pages of excerpts. |
