IS 1941 CORRECT?

Bette Partington (now Mrs. Bette Pope) has written to suggest that this photograph is more likely to date from 1939. Bette bases her theory on the fact that the late Derek Hughes, whom she knew, would have been thirteen years old in 1941 and is therefore unlikely to have been in the third form. Would anyone care to comment?
