In November 1922 FGS moved to Manchester Road, into what was then a brand-new building. This photograph was taken before the move, at the school's temporary residence in the New Jerusalem School building, near the Black Horse.

Mr. A. Wilson, who became Headmaster in 1931. A greatly respected man who guided the school through the difficult years of WW2 and retired in 1951 Archie Ingham Wilf Barwise Mr. Percy Holgate. Click here to read his obituary.

Mr. Astle Mr. J. McCarter (Headmaster) Mr. A. Wilson. When this photograph was taken, Mr. Wilson had already been at FGS for some nine years. Appointed Senior Master in 1922 and Head Master in 1932, he eventually served FGS for a total of 39 years and retired in 1951. Mr. Ingham (or Taylor?) Miss Booker Miss Rankin(?)
